High School Career: Zach Collins attended Bishop Gorman High School in Summerlin, Nevada, where he established himself as a dominant force on the basketball court. During his tenure, he led the team to four consecutive Nevada Division I state championships from 2013 to 2016. In his senior year, Collins averaged 17.3 points, 14 rebounds, and 6.4 blocks per game, earning him the Nevada All-Southwest League MVP and first-team All-Southwest League honors. His exceptional performance also secured him a spot as a McDonald's All-American in 2016. ​

College Career: Collins committed to Gonzaga University, where he played for the Bulldogs during the 2016–2017 season. As a freshman, he primarily contributed off the bench, averaging 10 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks over 17.3 minutes per game. His standout performance came during the national semifinal of the 2017 NCAA Tournament, where he recorded 14 points, 13 rebounds, and six blocks, propelling Gonzaga to their first-ever national championship game. ​

Professional Career: After his freshman year, Collins declared for the 2017 NBA Draft and was selected 10th overall by the Sacramento Kings, who subsequently traded him to the Portland Trail Blazers. He played with the Trail Blazers from 2017 to 2021, where he showed promise but faced challenges due to injuries. In August 2021, Collins signed with the San Antonio Spurs, where he revitalized his career, improving his averages to nearly 12 points per game during the 2022–2023 season. On February 3, 2025, he was traded to the Chicago Bulls as part of a three-team deal. ​

Community Involvement: Beyond his professional commitments, Collins has remained connected to his roots. In 2018, he returned to Las Vegas to host his first basketball camp at the YMCA, in collaboration with his former AAU program, Vegas Elite. This initiative underscores his dedication to giving back to the community that nurtured his early basketball journey.
